<aside> 👋🏾 Hello, and thank you for getting the Sunny Intray.

If you have not done already, you need to first sign up for Notion. Afterwards, you see a button at the top right corner of this page saying “Duplicate”. This will add this template into your own Notion workspace. Once done, go ahead reading this page.

For you to get started, I prepared this overview to set up your new intray and get an understanding of how Notion works.

However, if you want additional help with Notion and setting it up as your complete project management system, I highly recommend their guides https://www.notion.so/help/guides. Otherwise, you can also send me an email with any questions ([email protected]).

Let’s get started with your new Sunny Intray, so you can better organise your notes, thoughts and bookmarks.

  1. Add your quick notes

First, a bit of background on how Notion works:

Notion’s main feature is databases, which are also the basis of this intray template. Below, you can find a database called “Quick notes”. This is the core of your Intray.

Within a database, you can create entries. I already added a few for you to get started. You can open these entries and add as much text as you want, as well as databases, images, tables, links, pages, whatever you want really.

By clicking on the blue “New” button on the top right of the database or the row at the bottom of the database, you can add a new entry in your database.

Within a database entry, you can see different columns, so-called properties. By filling in these properties, you basically add more information to your database entries.

Database properties are of different types: Text, Numbers, Select, Date, Checkboxes... We will go through some types throughout this page.

Create a new database entry and click on the empty boxes within the columns to fill in the details of your note.

  1. Sort and filter your notes according to content, format or urgency

By clicking on the + next to the “All Notes” tab, you can create a new view of your database.

You can choose to filter your views on any of the properties. For this, go to “Filter” in the upper right corner of the database and choose the property that you want to filter your database by. Below, you can find three views of your database, the view “books” shows you notes about books, the second one notes of high urgency and the third one notes related to applications.

Similarly, you can sort each view by any of the columns. For this, go to “Sort” in the upper right corner of the database and choose the property that you want to sort your database by.
